Choosing well
Salt air pits cheap plating within a couple of years, and a handle that looked identical in the showroom starts shedding its finish. Stainless steel and solid brass survive it. Powder-coated and electroplated zinc alloy are fine on internal doors and a poor bet on an exposed front door in a coastal locality.
Handles are what you see; the mortise body is what actually resists a break-in. Look at the body construction, the number of throws and the cylinder grade. It is entirely normal, and often sensible, to pair a modest handle with a substantially better lock body.
A solid teak door is far heavier than a flush door of identical dimensions. Under-specified hinges let a door drop, and a dropped door stops latching and starts scraping the frame. Count on three hinges minimum for a full-height door and go heavier for solid timber.
Asked at the counter
Yes. Handles, lock bodies, cylinders and hinges are all sold separately over the counter.
Stainless steel and solid brass. Both handle humidity and coastal salt far better than plated zinc alloy, which is the usual cause of a handle that looks tired after two monsoons.
Two counters in Trivandrum
Everything we sell is a mechanism. A runner either glides at full extension under load or it does not, and no photograph will tell you which. Both counters have the range on working display boards.

The Technopark-side counter, first floor of the Thunduvilakam building opposite Kazhakuttam police station. Closer if you are building anywhere from Sreekaryam out to Kariavattom, Attingal or Technocity.
